Plato

Plato is an ensemble character. He is laid-back and stays in the background for most of the show, but he does join in rather enthusiastically on The Rum Tum Tugger number. In most productions, he is the one that Victoria dances the Pas De Deux with. The actor who plays Macavity is the same actor who plays Plato.

The name Plato actually comes from the American productions of CATS, originating on Broadway. In London-based productions, he is known as Admetus. Despite the 1998 film being London-based, fans have taken to calling that version of him Plato rather than Admetus, solidifying the name as the more well-known one for the character

His three words are: “Friendly, Easygoing, Protective”
