Mr. Mistoffelees is a featured character. He is a magician who possesses powerful magical powers, though it seems he does not know the extent of them yet. He sometimes uses his magical powers for mischievous reasons like making objects disappear and reappear to confuse humans or other cats. He displays marvellous showmanship both in his own number and in “Invitation to the Jellicle Ball”.
Quaxo is sometimes used as an alternate name for Mistoffelees for the duration of the show before his song, though there is debate among fans whether Quaxo is an entirely different cat or just one of Mistoffelees’ other names. Some productions do use Quaxo as the name for a separate cat, but that’s not a common occurrence.
